Troops of operation Hadin Kai have killed 10 suspected Boko Haram insurgents in Rann, Kala Balge LGA of Borno state.

The development comes hours after President Muhammadu Buhari appointed Faruk Yahaya as the new chief of army staff.

Before his appointment, Yahaya was the theatre commander of operation Hadin Kai.

In a statement on Saturday, Mohammed Yerima, army’s spokesperson, said the insurgents came with gun trucks and had attempted to enter into the town.
