At least 13 people were injured when a four-storey building collapsed in the Lagos Island area of the state.

Adesina Tiamiyu, general manager of the Lagos State Emergency Managment Agency (LASEMA), confirmed the incident in a statement.

Tiamiyu said it occurred around 2:43pm, and that rescue operation was still on.

“Heavy duty equipment are presently searching through the rubbles,” he said.

On Saturday, a building collapsed (pictured) in the Meiran area of the state, killing a woman and her two-year-old daughter.

Tiamiyu advised owners and developers of buildings in the state to adhere to building codes and physical planning laws of the state so as to advert unnecessary loss of lives.
