Team Nigeria bounced back to winning ways after Sunday’s 3-1 loss to Singapore in the semifinal with victory over India by the same margin in the men’s table tennis at the ongoing games to bag the bronze medal.

In the doubles event, Segun Toriola and Ojo Onaolapo beat Anthony Arputharaj and Desai 3-11, 11-9, 11-5, 9-11.

And after Quadri Aruna got the better of Harmeet Rajul Desai 11-7, 11-8, 9-11, 11-5 and Segun Toriola lost to Sharath Kamal Achanta 9-11, 5-11, 7-11, Ojo Onaolapo beat Sharath Kamal Achanta 11-9, 3-11, 11-7, 11-5 to hand bronze to the Nigerian team.

The women team could not progress beyond the knockout stage despite managing to qualify from the group. They lost to Malaysia in the round-of-16.
