Lawyers Network for Bola Ahmed Tinubu (LANBAT) has endorsed the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2023 presidential race.

In an inaugural press conference, on Tuesday, the group said its sole agenda for the 2023 general election is to mobilise support for the former Lagos governor.

Dotun Ajulo, convener of the group, noted that LANBAT has evaluated the major contenders in the race and came to the conclusion that Tinubu is the right person for the job.

Ajulo added that Tinubu will recruit best hands to manage the current challenges confronting the nation.

“Lawyers as social engineers whose burden for a just, fair and equitable society should ordinarily be the drivers of the process The current challenge of nation building, national cohesion and unity is no doubt daunting. The socio-economic challenge attest to the fact that we are challenged as country and presently our co-existence as a sovereign nation is threatened,” Ajulo said.

“Therefore, the forthcoming 2023 general election is the future of the nation. We come to this conclusion after series of retreats and meetings across the six geo-political zones of the country. The past is a story told, the present is under-study, we as a coordinated team of over one million Nigerians have decided to be proactive with our decisions towards shaping the future (2023).

“Arising from our last meeting in Osun state, we discovered that as lawyers, our place in the society wield so much influence. Harnessing the enormous influence and transferring it into a national agenda to promote, integrate and achieve national goals and development via the engagement, mobilisation and conscientisation of all Nigerians to vote en masse for a nationalist, patriotic, selfless and an astute socio-political engineer in the person of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2023 is our on-going single agenda.

“In arriving at the choice of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, we have considered and evaluated him with other major contenders for presidency and we realised that his mien, disposition and patriotism placed him above others. Based on his antecedents, which his opponents admits. BAT has seen it all, worked through the processes of nation building in Nigeria and know where it hurts deeply. As a city boy, he has seen both sides of leadership and governance.

“We must remind Nigerians that BAT, as governor in Lagos state, the federal allocation of Lagos state was withheld for about four years but infrastructural development never ceased, the state IGR improved and till date, the state of Lagos state economy is on a steady rise based on his templates. Nigerians can attest to his efforts at curtailing insecurity in his era when bank robbery was the order of the day, BAT brought bank robberies to halt. His cerebral competence is equal to none as can be attested to by all.”

The group further said that Tinubu sustained free education legacy up to higher institution levels for Lagosians and will replicate the same achievements if elected president in 2023.
