26 ships ‘bringing petrol to Lagos’

Twenty-six ships laden with petroleum products, food items and other commodities are expected to arrive at Lagos ports from June 4 to June 20, the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has said.

NPA said the ships would ferry kerosene, diesel, containers, general cargoes, fish, bulk gypsum and bulk wheat into the country petrol.

It indicated that 11 other ships laden also with petrol, diesel, base oil, bulk rice and fresh fish have arrived at the ports, waiting to discharge their contents.

It said 26 other ships carrying petrol, diesel, bulk gas, aviation fuel, rice, crude palm oil, bulk wheat were already discharging at the ports.

It added that other ships were discharging general cargoes, trucks, soybeans, fish, containers and bulk sugar.
