Stella Ameyo Adadevoh will go down in the annals of history as the individual who took it upon herself to ensure that the deadly Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) was curtailed and prevented from spreading around the cosmopolitan city of Lagos.

The late doctor of First Consultants Hospital, Obalende, would eventually die from the disease, which was brought into the country by Patrick Sawyer, a Liberian-American.

Although he was admitted with fever like symptoms – and denied coming in contact with any Ebola victim in Liberia – Adadevoh and her team discovered that Sawyer did indeed, suffer from EVD.

Adadevoh’s sacrifice, bravery and commitment to her job averted a potential large scale spread of the virus.

Lagos was spared, Nigeria was saved.

A Steve Gukas-directed movie, ’93 Days’, honours the sacrifice of the late doctor and her colleagues – by capturing the torrid events from September 2014 up until Nigeria was declared free of Ebola by the World Health Organisation.

The official trailer for the movie was released on Friday – and Nigerians were reminded of the stories and characters that shaped the Ebola crisis and its aftermath.
