Isaac Adewole, minister of health, says the federal government will foot the medical bills of Faith Andrew, a 14-year-old girl in need of a kidney transplant.

The minister’s promise followed an article by a columnist published in the TheCable and THISDAY on Sunday drawing attention to the plight of the teenager whose father died last year.

She is one of the six children being catered for by her widowed mother who is a subsistence farmer.

Adewole visited the Gwagwalada Teaching Hospital on Tuesday to see the patient.

In a tweet on the official handle of the ministry of health on Tuesday, Adeowole, who said he was acting on behalf of the federal government, also stated that “Nigerians would soon benefit from Universal Health Coverage Programme championed by the present administration.”

Faith’s mother, Evan, from Enugu state, is a widow, and has been struggling to take care of her six children.

She needs a little above N7m for a transplant.

Nigerians will soon begin to enjoy universal health coverage plan championed by the current administration……still promises of party seeking power not one in power. Pls stop the promises and start delivering on your earlier campaign promises. Thanks to Simon Kolawole for championing this cause, God bless you.
