The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has vowed to go ahead with its planned strike despite the ruling of the National Industrial Court.

Benson Upah, the union’s head of information, confirmed this to TheCable late Tuesday.

“‎NLC’s position has not shifted. The strike will go on tomorrow,” he said.

When asked if he could be quoted, he said: “Quote me the strike will go on tomorrow.”

The NLC also asked its comrades to mobilise ahead of the industrial action, saying the take-off point for the federal capital teritorry (FCT) is at its secretariat by 8am.

Earlier on Tuesday, Babatunde Adejumo, president of the court, ordered the union to suspend action.

The judge gave the ruling following a suit filed by Abubakar Malami, attorney-general of the federation (AGF).

Adejumo ordered parties to maintain the status quo until the hearing and determination of the exparte motion.

He also directed the government to dialogue with the NLC towards an amicable resolution of their dispute.

I Absolutely Support The NLC 4 D Commencement Of D Strike, Bcos We Have No Good Government Both In Past And Present, Remember During Jonathan Regime, Our Government Are Not Capable Of Producing Electricity Anymore, It Was Handover 2 Private Sectors And Since Then Till Now The Situation Of Electricity Is Worse Than Ever And Continue 2 Worse. Now That Subsidy Is Remove While The Country Economy Is Worse, While Import Is Forbiden, While Our Naira Is Devalue, While There Is No Stable Power Supply, While There Is No At Least 2 Working Refinaries, And Our Governmen Is Telling Us Dat Some People Are Destroying Pipe Line And Refinaries, What Is The Work Of Our Security Agencies Cos When Mr Ojukwu Want 2 Break River Niger Bridge Then Our Security Agencies Function But Now The Are Where 2 Be Found, When There Is Still Subsidy, Our Thief Sell Petrol On Water Before They Land, They Also Divert Petrol 2 Another Countries, So While D Subsidy Is Remove They Have Full Access And Power To Do What They Like Cos As A Business..
