‎The trial of Senate President Bukola Saraki at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) will not take place on Wednesday, TheCable has learnt.

On May 25, Danladi Umar, CCT chairman, adjourned the trial to June 1 for the continuation of cross-examination of the prosecution witness, Michael Wetkas.

But TheCable learnt early Wed‎nesday that the trial would not take place.

According to Ibrahim Alhassan, spokesman of the tribunal, the trial would not take place because of the absence of the key prosecution witness.

Alhassan explained to TheCable that the trial was adjourned – to a yet to be disclosed date – at the instance of the prosecution.
