Nurse abducted in Gombe
The police in Gombe are investigating the abduction of Ephraim Ajuji, a nurse at Cottage Hospital, a government-owned health institution.
Ajuji was reportedly abducted by suspected criminals around 3:30am on Tuesday, in Dadin-Kowa community, located in Yamaltu-Deba local government area of the state.
Shina Olukolu, state commissioner of police, confirmed the incident while addressing reporters on Tuesday.
Olukolu said the criminals, numbering about seven, stormed the residence of the victim, wielding locally-manufactured guns.
According to him, agents from the state intelligence bureau (SIB) and the Department of State Security (DSS) are working closely with the local vigilante to rescue the victim and fish out the criminals.
“They (agents) are now tracking the criminals,” he said.
“It is our belief that they will eventually be arrested and the man released.”
