Bola Tinubu, national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), says the ruling party has a stainless kitchen that can accommodate “as many cooks as possible”.

Speaking on Saturday during a mega rally held to receive Adebayo Alao-Akala, former Oyo governor, and hosts of others into the APC, Tinubu said opposition parties in Oyo state are dead.

“We have a stainless kitchen and we can accommodate as many cooks as possible. We love those bigwigs and we can accommodate them all,” Tinubu said.

“You can see that the opposition has finished in Oyo state. Today is important for us because it is the birthday of governor Abiola Ajimobi. Things that have never happened in the history of Oyo state have started happening.

“I thank God that my friend, Alao-Akala, and the others for seeing the light. All of you who joined the party will also join in building it.

“The APC house is great for all of us. We are proud of you for joining us. APC is the only progressive party in Nigeria and Africa.

“We are happy to have you in and we are proud of our party.”

The former Lagos state governor said the APC was the only progressive party in Nigeria and Africa.

Abiola Ajimobi, Oyo state governor, said Alao-Akala and other defectors were the few good, intelligent and weighty people in the opposition parties across the state.

“The defection of Alao-Akala and others to the APC is a clear pointer that opposition parties in the state were finished,” he said.

Other defectors are Teslim Folarin, former senate leader, Brimoh Yusuf, Ayodele Adigun, Asimiyu Alarape, Dokun Odebunmi, Ademola Ojo, Olanrewaju Otiti, Rauf Olaniyan and Funke Adesiyan.
