Four hundred and seventy-five Boko Haram suspects have been freed by the court, for lack of evidence.

Four judges appointed by chief judge of the federal high court have been sitting on the cases of the suspects since September.

On Friday, the federal high court, Kainji, Niger state, ordered that the 475 suspects be returned to their home states for rehabilitation.

A young girl with a three-month-old baby from Borno state was part of those freed by the court.

She was taken to a Boko Haram enclave by her brother and married off to his friend when she was 11. She was arrested in 2014 while trying to escape.

Taye and Kehinde Hamza, both mechanics, and Hamza twins were also freed.

Before the release of the 475 suspects, 468 had been freed after they were not found guilty to the charges against them.
