Every four years in Nigeria, political-friends do become political-enemies and political-enemies do become political-friends. Corrupt people are silently declared ‘saints’ and lawless, but influential men and women are used to deliver massive votes. ‘Sins’ against citizens are forgiven and agencies that arrest corrupt and prosecute erring politicians either go to bed, snoring or temporarily become deaf and blind.

We are currently in the melodramatic and theatrical season of vain-elections—elections that have never delivered anything good to the common man. Projects (that will never see the light of day) are now being awarded and vain-promises are being made to deceive the naïve, unsuspecting and gullible citizens of our cherished country. Social media, radio stations, television houses and national dailies are now awash and flooded with propagandists—people who are being paid to tell lies unbehalf of those in the corridors of power. They are being paid to ‘lie-away’ the future of their children!

My foremost concern is actually not the ongoing comedy that is going on in our polity; my major concern is the uninformed class of citizens of our treasured country—who are buying into it. I am still incapable of cracking the kernel of reason why those in tight economic-chains can keep falling for same lies—every four (4) year, let alone swallow it. Nigerians will continue to wallow in the dirt of poverty until they start asking intelligent questions from those they empower (to serve) with their votes.

The first error of Mr. President is his disdain for courts of competent jurisdiction. He has no reverence and respect for them—both local and international courts of law. The arrow-head of “SHI’ITE” is still being kept behind bars by the current administration, even after local and international courts have told PMB to release him. Today, an individual is superior to the constitution of our dear country. Nigeria is actually heading for anarchy and something urgently (that is legitimate) needs to be done by those who truly love Nigeria.

The truth is, if PMB truly loves Nigeria and Nigerians, he would submit to the rule of law. An administration that daily says it is fighting corruption cannot afford to be lawless. Some hours ago, the Federal Government said it is going to take the Labour Union to court—in order to stop them from embarking on the coming strike action, slated for the 6^th of November, 2018. When I heard this, I laughed. Why did I laugh? I laughed because an administration that has no respect for court orders wants a court of competent jurisdiction to order the Labour Union not to embark on the proposed strike action. Isn’t this laughable?

Also, as an effect of the illegitimate detention of the leader of “SHI-ITE,” his followers have been consistently coming out to protest (for his release) in the Federal Capital Territory in the last forty (40) hours, but the way the current administration of President Buhari has been handling them is very flawed, incorrect and erroneous. The truth is; President Buhari is probably and unsuspectingly creating another terrorist group, as an effect of the way our gallant-soldiers have been shooting them. PMB and the military need to understand that bullets can never stop an ideology. It takes a superior ideology to stop an ideology. Killing violent and fearless people cannot stop them; it can only embolden and spread them abroad. Let us sheath our swords and dialogue with them. Nigeria can only be built when there is peace and there can never be peace without justice.

Countless Nigerians are already angry with the State. As a nation, we are sitting on a time-bomb that is daily ticking. Life is daily becoming unbearable for them. Take for instance, too many pot-holes; dirt and traffic-jam in Lagos do not make any sense to any further extent. Leadership is not making happiness happen for our people, it is only spreading discomfort. Remember, there is a level it would get and our people would stop taking it. Let us make Nigeria work now before it becomes too late for all of us.

Some months back, Benue State was daily in the news—because of nefarious activities of “Fulani Herdsmen.” It was in the news that about one hundred and sixty-two (162) Fulani Herdsmen were arrested, but till now, justice is yet to be seen to be done. When justice is not being seen to be done, the administration of President Buhari is clearly sending out the wrong signals. When it involves people of his tribe, he rises very quickly, but when it affects people of other tribes, it takes eternity for him to know about it, let alone do anything to solve the problem. Nigeria needs a leader—who loves them equally. We detest parochial and sectional leadership. It is alien to national cohesion and development.

Furthermore, Nigeria is struggling to pay her workers and we cannot even fund 2018 budget, but the administration of President Buhari prodigally gave Guinea Bissau five hundred thousand (500,000) dollars! I am talking about a nation that is practically living on loans and preparing to sell national assets to survive. Money is still not our problem, but how to spend it. We are in a dire need of those who know how to handle and multiply resources. Nigeria has no reason borrowing money to survive economically! Our country is clearly void of thinkers—in the corridors of power. And if you ignorantly return all of them to power next year; then I would agree that they do have every reason to further smack and spank you with heavy rod of poverty.
