Bolaji Owasanoye, chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), says his agency has recovered more than 200 properties in eight months.

Owasanoye said this on Wednesday when he met with the management of the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (NIALS) in Abuja.

The ICPC chairman said the anti-graft agency is moving to recover additional 100 properties.

He added that the commission is working with the ministry of works to ascertain their value of the already recovered properties.

“ICPC has recovered over 200 assets under my watch. We are working hard to get to 300 before the end of the year,” Owasanoye said.

“Some of these properties are under interim forfeiture, while others are under final forfeiture.”

On his part, Muhammed Ladan, director-general of NIALS, said the office space in the basement of supreme court is not sufficient for 38 officials currently working from there, adding the institute has over 317 officials in Lagos and Abuja combined.

Ladan urged ICPC to help procure one of the recovered properties as temporary office for the institute.
