The Akin Fadeyi Foundation (AFF) has partnered with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to launch an anti-corruption radio programme.

The radio programme tagged ‘Make We Sama Corruptioncan be loosely translated to “Let’s Destroy Corruption” in English.

According to the foundation, the 30-minute radio show will be aired every Friday from 9:30 am to 10 am on National Traffic Radio 107.1 FM.

Hasiya Nagode-Ali, programme officer of the foundation, in a statement, said the radio show was designed to stimulate dialogue on the social symptoms and effects of corruption with a view of creating societal change.

Nagode-Ali said the show will also provide citizens-centred solutions on how to tackle and eradicate corruption individually and collectively.

Speaking on the partnership, earlier this year, Boboye Oyeyemi, corps marshal of the FRSC, said the radio programme collaboration is a consolidation of FRSC’s partnership with the foundation on the deployment of media and technology to drive robust public engagement in combating corruption.

Oyeyemi said there has been an upscale in the accountability processes of the FRSC since the agency partnered with the foundation’s FlagIt App.

“This radio program collaboration is in continued consolidation of the FRSC’s partnership with the Akin Fadeyi Foundation in its deployment of media and innovative technology to drive robust public engagement in combating corruption,” the corps marshal said.

On his part, Akin Fadeyi, the executive director of AFF, said the FRSC has been consistent in its commitment to eradicate corruption in the agency, adding that the optimal advantage of the FlagIt App has facilitated the attainment of this purpose.

Fadeyi said the newly launched radio programme is capable of provoking patriotic action against corruption.

“The FRSC has been consistent in its focus, and irrevocable commitment to not only stamp out corruption but to also take optimal advantage of the technology our FlagIt App offers in achieving its purpose,” he said.

“This is why the radio program promises to be incisive, engaging and capable of provoking collective patriotic action against corruption.

“The MacArthur Foundation, also a staunch supporter of good governance and accountability, has equally strengthened our capacity through funding and abundant technical support to deepen our work with the FRSC in our continued resolve to trigger citizens voice action against corruption”.
