Chelsea secured a comfortable 4-0 win over Juventus in their UEFA Champions League (UCL) encounter at the Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night to advance into the knock out phase of the competition.

Three of Chelsea’s goals were scored by their academy products.

Nathaniel Chalobah’s strike put them ahead in the first half before Reece James and Callum Hudson-Odoi added two goals in two minutes early in the second period.

Timo Werner then added more gloss in extra time to ensure Chelsea move level on points with Juventus after five matches.

The UCL champions lead group H on superior goals difference and better head-to-head advantage over the Old Lady of Turin.

Manchester United also advanced to the knock out phase following an improbable 2-0 win over Villarreal in Spain.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho scored for the Red Devils who recently sacked Ole Gunnar Solskjaer — with Michael Carrick taking the position of a stand-in coach until a replacement is announced.

Elsewhere, Robert Lewandowski made it nine consecutive UCL matches with a goal scored, thanks to an outrageous bicycle kick goal in Bayern Munich’s 2-1 win over Dynamo Kiev in Ukraine.
