APC set to claim new state as Audu leads Wada
The All Progressives Congress (APC) is about to clinch its 22nd state in the current political dispensation.
Audu Abubakar, its candidate in the governorship election of Kogi state, is leading in the result so far announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
While Idris Wada, the incumbent governor and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won only five local governments, Idris coasted to victory in the remaining 16 local governments.
Though INEC has not officially announced the result, figures revealed from the coalition show that Audu polled a total of 240, 867 votes and Wada had 199, 514.
