Chelsea conceded a late goal to draw 2-2 against Everton in their English Premier League (EPL) encounter at the Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Following improvements in recent weeks with back-to-back league wins, Graham Potter’s side twice led through Joao Felix and Kai Havertz but could not hold on to it as they dropped precious points.

Felix gave Chelsea the lead on 52 minutes with a low drive that broke Everton’s resistance but Abdoulaye Dacoure scrambled in the equalizer from a corner kick on 69 minutes.

Havertz restored the Blues’ lead from the penalty spot after Reece James was brought down but Ellis Simms, a youngsters and academy product, stole a point for the visitors with a bursting run and finish on 89 minutes.

Chelsea remain 10th in the league with 38 points from 27 matches while Everton moved up to 15th with 26 points.

Elsewhere, Erling Haaland continued his goalscoring form with another hattrick — his second in successive matches — in Manchester City’s 6-0 trashing of Burnley in their FA Cup quarter-final encounter.

Julian Alvarez added a brace before Cole Palmer rounded up scoring to seal City’s semi-final place, their sixth in seven seasons under Pep Guardiola, their manager.
