‘A builder in every sense’ — Tinubu celebrates BUA chairman Rabiu on 65th birthday

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Abdul Samad Rabiu, chairman of BUA Group, on his 65th birthday.

In a statement on Monday, the president described Rabiu as a man of quiet excellence, courageous enterprise, and unwavering faith in Nigeria.

He noted that Rabiu is one of Africa’s most accomplished businessmen, whose investments have transformed key sectors of Nigeria’s economy.

“From cement to foods, sugar to steel, ports to power, and more recently, oil and gas, he has demonstrated what is possible when vision meets discipline and ambition is anchored in purpose,” the statement reads.

Tinubu praised the BUA chairman’s calm leadership style and his consistent belief in the Nigerian project.

He noted the significant contributions of BUA Group to national development, adding that its businesses have created thousands of jobs, deepened industrial capacity, and restored confidence in indigenous enterprise and local production.

The president also praised the social impact of Rabiu’s philanthropic work through the Abdul Samad Rabiu Africa Initiative (ASR Africa), saying its wide-reaching efforts has helped in improving lives through interventions in education, health, and social development.

“Abdul Samad Rabiu is a builder in every sense. He has built industries, empowered people, uplifted communities, and continues to invest in the future of our country—not for applause, but out of duty and conviction,” he said.

“Nigeria is proud of him, and I am proud to call him a trusted partner in our nation’s progress.”

Tinubu wished the businessman continued strength, wisdom, and good health.

He also expressed confidence that his legacy as a patriot, philanthropist, industrialist, and nation-builder will endure for generations.
