Ghanaian President John Mahama has described Mike Adenuga, chairman of Globacom, as a man of extraordinary achievements.
In a congratulatory message to celebrate Adenuga’s 72nd birthday, Mahama commended the business mogul for his outstanding contributions to both Nigeria and Ghana, their people, and their economies.
The Ghanaian president further described Adenuga’s life “as a shining example of vision, resilience, and extraordinary accomplishment”.
Mahama said through his unmatched entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to excellence, Adenuga had “not only built enduring businesses but also contributed significantly to the socio-economic advancement of our continent”.

He added that Adenuga’s leadership and philanthropic endeavour remain a beacon of inspiration for generations across Africa.
In 2018, Emmanuel Macron, president of France, conferred the country’s highest national honour on Adenuga, making him the first Nigerian to be decorated with the award of Commander of the Legion of Honour.
Adenuga was also one of six Nigerians named among the world’s Black billionaires for 2025 by Forbes Magazine.
