Abba Yusuf distributes UTME form to 10,000 Kano students

Abba Yusuf, governor of Kano, has given out 10,000 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) forms for students in the state.

In a statement on Monday, Ibrahim Adam, special adviser to the governor on information, said Haruna Makoda, Kano’s education commissioner, has also inaugurated centres across the state where students would learn how to take computer-based tests.

Adam said the governor has promised to provide free transportation for the beneficiaries and urged them to ensure they pass the examination

The special adviser said the governor is committed to developing education in the state.

This, Adam, prompted the reintroduction of foreign/domestic scholarships, the reopening of 21 skills acquisition institutes, and the renovation of primary and secondary schools, among other things.

“Other achievements include the reduction of 50 per cent of registration fees in state-owned tertiary institutions, cash conditional transfers to support girl-child education, and the settlement of registration fees for NECO, NABTEB, and NBAIS, to mention a few,” Adam said.

“Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf urged all the beneficiary students to make the best use of the opportunity and strive for excellence in their academic pursuits.”
