Abbas Tajudeen, speaker of the house of representatives, says solving the nation’s problems requires thinking outside the box.

Speaking on Thursday when he received a delegation from the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) led by Tayo Aduloju, chief operating officer, Abbas said all hands must be on deck to fix Nigeria’s challenges.

The speaker said the parliament is ready to partner with non-governmental and civil society organisations on better ways to solve socio-economic problems in the country.

He said the 10th national assembly would support any organisation working towards addressing the challenges the country is facing.

“We need to put on our thinking caps and think outside the box to be able to proffer solutions to the numerous challenges facing the country,” he said.

“We are looking forward to more ideas and more initiatives.”

The speaker said the lawmakers will come up with a robust legislative agenda to guide their activities for the next four years for Nigeria’s benefit.

Speaking earlier, Aduloju said the national assembly should promise bills that grow Nigeria’s economy and promote small and medium-scale businesses.
