The abducted daughters of a director at the federal ministry of works, Dr. Samson Opaluwa have been released by their captors after nine days.

Ejura Opaluwa, 23, and Unekwu Opaluwa, 19, were abducted at about 5pm on June 8 by gunmen at their house at 55 Associated Estate, Impresit Karmo in Abuja.

The gunmen reportedly came to rob the family, but dissatisfied with the amount of money they found in the house, they went on to abduct the ladies to make more money.

According to a source close to the family, the young ladies were released in the wee hours of the morning.

“No ransom was paid,” the source quoted a relative of the ladies as saying.

“We were surprised when we saw them.”

An uncle of the ladies, Amade Opaluwa, also confirmed the release of the ladies to TheCable, saying the abductors were initially demanding a ransom of N200 million for their release.
