Abia Warriors shocked defending champions, Rangers 2-1 in one of the opening games of the 2017 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
Despite taking the lead, the visitors forced Rangers to a draw at the end of the first half.
However, the Warriors took the lead towards the end of the match.

John Kim fired Plateau United to the lead in the first half, but Victor Mbaoma responded with an equaliser at the dot of the half.
Plateau United regained the lead after Golbe Elisha, its captain, utilised a free kick in the early minutes of the second half.
All efforts by the home team to get the equaliser proved abortive.
