Abubakar Bello, governor of Niger, has won the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket to represent Niger north senatorial district.

Bello polled 335 votes against his only opponent, Aliyu Sabi, incumbent senator for the district who got seven votes.

According to NAN, Adamu Abdulkarim, chairman of the electoral committee, announced the result on Sunday in Kontagora.

Abdulkarim said out of 435 delegates, 343 delegates had valid votes, while one vote was void.

BAGUDU SECURES TICKET IN KEBBI

Similarly, Atiku Bagudu, governor of Kebbi, has clinched the Kebbi central senatorial ticket for the APC.

Declaring the result of the election held at Haliru Abdu secretariat, Birnin Kebbi, on Saturday, Kelechi Njoku, the returning officer, said Bagudu scored 455 votes.

Aliero withdrew from the race some hours before the commencement of the primary.

In his acceptance speech, Bagudu thanked the committee, stakeholders, and all other party loyalists for their support and cooperation that led to successful primaries in the state. He also promised to ensure quality representation.

NYAKO GETS GO-AHEAD TO CONTEST ADAMAWA CENTRAL SEAT 

Abdulaziz Nyako, former Adamawa governor, was elected the APC candidate for Adamawa central senatorial district with 292 votes.

Mu’azu Shehu, chairman of the electoral committee, said 379 votes were cast out of which Nyako got 292 votes to defeat Abdullahi Musa, who received 72 votes and Bindir Buba who got 13 votes.

Shehu said two votes were void.

MUSA, ENAGI GET APC TICKETS IN NIGER

Meanwhile, Mohammed Musa, senator representing Niger east senatorial district, and Bima Enagi, senator representing Niger south district, clinched the APC tickets to secure another term in the red chamber.

Musa polled 492 votes while Enagi polled 314 votes.
