President Muhammadu Buhari has launched the Abuja-Kaduna standard-gauge railway line at the Idu station in Abuja.

With the launch, commercial operations will now commence. A test-run operation was done earlier in the month.

The railway line was one of the infrastructural projects of the Goodluck Jonathan administration.

Also, the Buhari government has revived the Kano-Port Harcourt train services in an effort to complete the projects he inherited from the previous administration.

The president has expressed willingness to complete the projects passed down by the Jonathan administration.

“The federal government remains committed to completing the unfinished infrastructure projects it inherited,” the presidency said via one on its handles on Twitter.

“This commitment towards continuing and building on inherited projects and policies will be established as one of the administration’s hallmarks.

“Abandoned infrastructure projects will be  revived and completed with zeal. Inherited policies and programmes will be fine-tuned and implemented.”
