Kabiru Mijinyawa, speaker of the Adamawa state house of assembly, ordered Rufai Umar (APC-Gombi) out of the chamber on Thursday for making a phone call during plenary.

Mijinyawa also announced the dissolution of all the house standing committees, saying the decision was taken to enable the house reconstitute new ones.

The house also passed a resolution suspending Abdurahman Abubakar (APC-Mubi South) for three months for “violating the house standing order”.

The motion for the suspension of Abubakar, who was removed as the chairman of the committee on finance, budget and appropriation, was moved by Mahmood Musa (APC-Mayo-Belwa), majority leader of the house.

He said Abubakar violated the standing order by openly criticising the assembly’s approval of N11 billion “sectoral virement” in the 2015 state budget.
