The Rotary Club of Ikeja-Alausa central will, on July 30, hold the investiture of its president and board of directors.

At the event scheduled to hold at the Lagos Airport Hotel, Adebukunola Soile-Balogun will be installed as the first female president of the district.

The event is expected to begin at 11am.

According to a statement on Monday by Muyiwa Akintunde, vice-president, Rotary Club of Ikeja-Alausa central, the investiture ceremony will also feature a fund-raising activity to support the efforts of the club to execute more projects.

“In a year in which women in Rotary are breaking the glass ceiling, the club will be installing its first female President, Rotarian (Mrs) Adebukunola Soile-Balogun. This Rotary year (1st July 2022 to 30th June 2023), Rotary International produced Rotarian Jennifer Jones as President, while Rotarian Omotunde Lawson is the Governor of Rotary International District 9110, covering all clubs in Lagos and Ogun States,” the statement reads.

“The club Directors who will be unveiled include the President-elect, Rotarian Olayinka Patunola-Ajayi; the Vice President, who is also Public Image Chair, Rotarian Muyiwa Akintunde; Secretary, Rotarian Vincent Isaac; Treasurer, Rotarian Remilekun Bada and Club Administrator, Rotarian Tolulope Ajimotokan.

“Others include Membership Chair, Rotarian Adeyemi Oguntirin; Rotary Foundation Chair, Rotarian Ayoku Banjoko Safatmaruwa; Service Project Chair, Rotarian Busayo Akomolafe; Youth Service Chair, Rotarian Abiodun Sonuga; History and Archives Chair, Rotarian Charity Uzochi; Immediate Past President, Rotarian Deji Shonuga and Sergeant-at-Arms, Rotarian Omoja Abimaje.

“The event will be presided over by Mr Bamidele Samuel Ajibare (well known as Bigsam), OmegaPro Management Executive. In March, Ajibare and his wife, Gift achieved the Black Diamond feat with Omegapro in what was described as a ‘record-breaking feat’.

“Oba Abdulrazaq Adesina Adenugba, the Ebumawe of Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, is the Royal Father of the Day, while Past Assistant Governor, Rotarian Wale Adegbite is the Guest Speaker.

“Rotary Club of Ikeja-Alausa Central was chartered by Rotary International on 23rd March 2021 with Rotarian Shonuga as its Charter President.”
