Funke Adedoyin, a member of the house of representatives, has died.
Adedoyin, who hails from Kwara state, was said to have passed on in Abuja on Friday, after suffering from cancer.
Confirming the sad news, Yakubu Dogara, speaker of the house of representatives, described Adedoyin’s death as a great shock.
Writing via his Twitter handle, he said the late lawmaker was vibrant and dedicated in carrying our her duties as a public servant.
According to him, “news of the death of Hon. Funke Adedoyin came as a great shock. She was a vibrant lawmaker and dedicated public servant.
“We @HouseNGR pray that God grants her family, constituents & the people and government of Kwara state the fortitude to bear the loss.”
An All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmaker, she defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) earlier in the year.
