L-R: Ademola Adeleke and Oluwatosin Adejumo
Ademola Adeleke, governor of Osun, has appointed Oluwatosin Adejumo, a street puff-puff seller, as a chef at the state’s government house.
The governor announced the appointment in a post on his official X page on Friday.
Adeleke described Adejumo, who holds a Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE) and has professional catering skills, as “the puff-puff seller turned Government House chef”.
He said the gesture was in fulfilment of a promise he made during a recent rally where organised labour in the state endorsed his administration and declared support for his re-election bid.

“A few days ago, I met Ms. Oluwatosin Adejumo… during the rally where organised labour in Osun State, in collaboration with other unions, endorsed the work we are doing and declared their support for my second term,” the governor wrote.
“Today, I fulfilled my promise by officially presenting her appointment letter as one of our Government House chefs. Beyond her employment, I have also offered her a scholarship up to the Master’s level, should she choose to further her education.
“Her story is a powerful reminder that hard work and dedication never go unnoticed. My administration will continue to recognize and uplift excellence wherever we find it.”

In a video shared on his X page, the governor was seen buying all of Adejumo’s puff-puff with N50,000 during the rally in Osogbo, before offering her employment.
The video also showed Adeleke beckoning to the vendor from a bus, engaging her in a short conversation about her catering skills, and instructing his aides to take her contact details.
