My administration has built over 200 roads and bridges, says Wike

Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers state, says over 200 roads and bridges have been built since his administration came on board 18 months ago.

The governor said this while inspecting ongoing projects across Rivers east and Rivers south-east and Rivers west senatorial districts.

He expressed delight that his government distributed the projects across the nooks and crannies of the state.

Wike also said his administration has been completing some of the unfinished projects executed under Rotimi Amaechi, his predecessor.

Some of the projects inspected were Pleasure Park, Port Harcourt, Igwuruta-Chokocho road in Etche local government, Obiri-Ikwere airport road, Ogbunabali internal roads, Aluu road and Omuchiolu-Agbada 1 flow station.

The others were Birabi Memorial Grammar School and Government Girls Secondary School, Rumuokwuta.

Also inspected were the Federal High Court complex being funded by the state government, Ozuoba-Rumuoparali road, Igbo-Etche road, Chokocho-Umuechem-Ozuzu road and Ulakwo-Afara-Nihi road.

Pleasure Park, Port Harcourt is on 50 hectares of land.

 

Others are Obio-Akpor/Eleme link bridge, Nkpogwu bridge.

Asked how the state has been getting funds in an era of recession, Wike said: “We operate a Jesus economy in Rivers. That is what I have been telling people.”
