Gernot Rohr, Super Eagles coach, says he wants to finish this month’s games against Benin Republic and Lesotho on a positive note.

The Super Eagles are currently top of group L with eight points from four games in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

In an interview with CAF on Monday, the 67-year-old tactician also said he is anticipating a tough game against the Squirrels of Benin on Saturday at the Stade Charles de Gaulle.

Rohr boys defeated Benin 2-1 in the first leg at the Godswill Akpabio stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state.

The three-time African champion will be needing just a point from the final two games to confirm their qualification for the next AFCON in Cameroon.

“We want to finish our qualification on a positive note, and the two matches against Benin and Lesotho are very important,” Rohr said.

“Of course, we know that Benin is difficult to beat after our last game in Uyo and we need at least a point against them to qualify for next year’s AFCON.

“Then, we are playing our final game in Lagos. We want to win in Lagos because it has been a long time since we last played there, and we want to conclude the qualifiers with a victory as well.

“These are not going to be easy matches because Lesotho drew with Benin, but we are going to give our best against these opponents.”

TheCable had earlier reported that seven thousand, two hundred spectators will be allowed to watch the match between the Super Eagles and Lesotho on March 30 at the Teslim Balogun stadium in Lagos.
