Africa Interviews to hold second edition of sustainability forum September 16

The Africa Interviews, an online media platform, is set to hold its second edition of its sustainability forum on September 16.

According to a statement by the organisers on Tuesday, the event is scheduled to take place at the Capital Club, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The media platform said the event would bring together more than 80 business leaders, policymakers, and innovators to explore Africa-focused environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategies.

With the theme ‘Beyond Compliance: Making ESG Work for African Realities’, Africa Interviews said the event will feature speakers from government, banking, telecoms, oil and gas, development agencies, and civil society.

“The focus will be on exploring practical, context-driven sustainability solutions tailored to Africa’s unique challenges,” Africa Interviews said.

Commenting on the development, Sam Umukoro, founder and editorial director of Africa Interviews, said the forum aims to push ESG beyond “tick-box exercises” toward strategies that create measurable impact, drive inclusive growth, and respond to Africa’s specific needs.

“By focusing on pragmatic solutions, we aim to drive sustainable growth and empower businesses to lead in global ESG conversations, creating long-term value for both business and society,” he said.

Lamé Verre, co-founder of Lean In Equity & Sustainability and a guest speaker, said diversity, equity, and inclusion are essential to building lasting ESG solutions.

“This platform ensures African voices and leadership are at the heart of that conversation,” she added.

The 2025 forum, the organisers said, will feature keynote speeches, panel discussions, and networking sessions aimed at fostering partnerships and promoting sustainable development across the continent.
