African Games: Lot favours Ghana over South Africa

Ghana (Women) and Burkina Faso (Men) emerged luckier during the drawing of lots for places at the semis of the ongoing 11th African Games Brazzaville 2015.

Ghana were picked ahead of South Africa whilst Burkina Faso got the nod over Sudan at the brief ceremony held on Monday, September 14, 2015, at the Kintele Sports Complex.

Banyana and Ghana finished joint-second in Group B following their two games, with both sides ending up with the same points, goal difference, goals scored and goals conceded.

In order to decide who would join group winners, Cameroon, in the semifinals there was a drawing of lots with Ghana going through to face western neighbours Cote d’Ivoire in Women’s semis on Tuesday, September 15 at the Kintele Stadium whereas Cameroon face Nigeria in the other semis clash.

For the Men, it will be Congo versus Senegal and Nigeria against Burkina Faso.
