D’Tigers of Nigeria have qualified for the quarter-final of the ongoing 2025 men’s Afrobasket in Angola.

The team confirmed their appearance in the final eight of the competition after defeating Cameroon 99-90 in their final group game on Sunday.

The victory was D’Tigers’ third in Group B after previously trashing Madagascar and Tunisia, the defending champions, in the first two games. The team finished top of the group.

Against the Cameroonians at the Pavilhao Multiusos de Luanda, Nigeria continued their exceptional form from the previous games.

The gauntlet was laid early in the game, and D’Tigers were ahead by 28-25 at the end of the first quarter.

The performance improved in the second quarter, and D’Tigers stretched the lead to 58-41 by halftime.

Nigeria continued the domination in the third quarter, and were up 84-53 when the buzzer went.

However, they let the game almost slip away from them in the fourth quarter as Cameroon lowered the margin, but their effort was too little too late.
