Adetoun Agbe-Davies, a community health physician, has emerged as the 34th president of the Rotary Club of Ikoyi.

The leadership of the club was handed to Agbe-Davies by Isichei Osamgbi, the outgoing president, during an investiture ceremony held in Lagos.

In his handover message, Osamgbi said the club has provided health-oriented and educational services to the needy in Ikoyi and its environs.

He also expressed appreciation to past presidents of the club for the good foundation they laid.

Agbe-Davies, who retired as a permanent secretary in the Lagos ministry of health, said she was happy to lead the club as it offers her the privilege to render service to others.

She said: “If you join others to form a club devoted to service to others, the rewards can be astronomical.”

Olusola Obada, former deputy governor of Osun state, commended members of the club for their community service.

“We do not have to be a Bill Gates to give,” she said.

Agbe-Davies’ tenure will come to an end in 2019 when another president will be elected.
