The Lagos Rotary Club will focus on basic education and literacy, economic and community development, disease prevention and treatment and water and sanitation, Larry Agose, its new president, has promised.

Agose also said he would focus on conflict resolution as well as maternal and child health.

The former PR adviser to the Nigerian Breweries Plc was installed as the 55th president of the Rotary Club of Lagos at the Metropolitan Club, Victoria Island, Lagos, at the weekend.

Agose thanked his colleagues for their commitment to the club, promising to continue “on the path of service to humanity in the coming Rotary year”.

Ayo Banjo, his predecessor, said the club had been involved in so many positive and life changing activities under him in the last one year.

“We have had major accomplishments this year. We have taken the initiative of adopting a village in Ibeju Lekki and teaching about 5000 residents how to make money through vocations. We also adopted malnourished children and pregnant women in the village,” he said.
