Air force, UN helicopters evacuate injured civilians from Rann

The Nigeria air force and the United Nations Humanitarian Air Service (UNHAS) helicopter have been evacuating injured internally displaced persons and other civilians from Rann to Maiduguri.

This was disclosed by Peter Lundberg, the UN deputy humanitarian coordinator in Nigeria.

Nigerian air force jet misfired and shot some humanitarian aid workers and internally displaced persons in Rann, Borno state on Tuesday killing 52 and injured 120 people.
