Many Nigerian players were in action for their respective clubs in the past week.

The top performers made TheCable’s team of the week.

They are;

Daniel Akpeyi [Kaizer Chiefs]

Akpeyi was always alert, especially when preventing Bloemfontein Celtic from getting a goal on three occasions. Vigilant.

Tyrone Ebuehi [Twente]

Tyrone Ebuehi was impressive for Twente over the weekend in the Dutch top flight. He keeps improving by the day. Attentive.

Ola Aina [Fulham]

Aina was everywhere in the game against Newcastle. He was always involved and ensured his territory was not left unguarded. Daunting.

Tosin Adarabioyo [Fulham]

Already an integral part of Fulham defence, the Manchester City’s product imposing physical presence dampened down any inroads the opponents tried to make. He also started off a couple of attacking moves. Intimidating.

Zaidu Sanusi [Porto]

Always ready to exploit his speed and trickery for Porto. Alert.

Wilfred Ndidi [Leicester City]

Almost a clear head above everyone else and directed the play throughout with crisp and precise balls. His technique was there for all to see. Precise.

Joel Obi [Chievo Verona]

Always ready to hold the ball up and was integral to many of Chievo’s best moves. Determined, aggressive and always willing to work for the team. He scored against Empoli. Menacing.

Alex Iwobi [Everton]

The Super Eagles star accounted for an assist against his former club Arsenal. Simply too hot to handle, he also helped out in defence when needed. Stupendous.

Chuks Aneke [Charlton Athletic]

What can you say about Aneke that hasn’t been said before? He was brilliant for Charlton. Amazing.

Stanley Dimgba [Stellenbosch]

The 27-year-old recorded a sensational goal. Outstanding.

Taiwo Awoniyi [Union Berlin]

The striker led the way with his sheer raw persistence. He scored a well-deserved goal by being in the right place at the right time. Stunning.
