Here are the top performers who made TheCable’s team of the week:

Daniel Akpeyi [Kaizer Chiefs]

Kaizer Chiefs continued their good run thanks to their net minder. He came and won all Amazulu’s crosses and showed what a good keeper can bring to a team. Influential.

Dominic Iorfa [Sheffield Wednesday]

Always a threat to Middlesbrough with his probing down the right flank. He also scored. Determined.

Semi Ajayi [West Brom]

Always provided safety in front of Sam Johnstone, he marked Nahki Wells out of the game. He was all over the place and dominated the game properly. Dominant.

Fikayo Tomori [Chelsea]

He was commanding at the centre, nullifying any connection between the visitors’ forward line and midfield. Always in position to read the game well and made vital interventions. Commanding.

Jamilu Collins [Paderborn]

Stayed back in defence but when the occasion arose he bolted forward, releasing the pressure as an outlet on the left flank while showing incredible fitness and energy. He also scored. Prominent.

Wilfred Ndidi [Leicester City]

Started in defensive midfield and caused problems. His goal was simply world class. Impressive.

Samuel Chukwueze [Villarreal]

Samuel Chukwueze was easily the Man of the Match with his sheer resourcefulness and energy. He scored and was involved in three of the goals. Persistent.

Sammy Ameobi [Nottingham Forest]

Simply outstanding, popping up everywhere with several goal-scoring attempts. He was also a huge problem to the opposition each time he got hold of the ball. He was on song and bagged the man of the match award.

Chidera Ejuke [Heerenveen]

Wore out the opponent with his energy and ran riot scoring twice. Antagonistic.

Chikeluba Ofoedu [Maccabi Tel Aviv]

The former Rangers forward did not waste a shot and scored a well-deserved brace against Beitar Jerusalem. Outstanding.

Ibrahim Shuaibu [Konsvinger]

The former Giwa FC striker has found his scoring boots once again. He scored two goals for Kongsvinger who beat Tromsdalen 3-1. Excellent.
