Many Nigerian players were in action for their respective clubs in the past week.

The top performers made TheCable’s team of the week.

They are;

Daniel Akpeyi (Chippa United)

Akpeyi once again proved why he is one of the best Nigerian goalkeepers. He made four world-class saves in the 1-0 loss to Amazulu.

Leon Balogun (Brighton & Hove Albion)

Balogun did well as a substitute in the 2-1 victory at Huddersfield Town.

Kenneth Omeruo (Leganes)

Omeruo was strong a pillar in defence, ensuring that his team won the game with his outstanding coverage.

William Troost-Ekong (Udinese)

Though Udinese drew 0-0 at Sassuola, the enterprising defender stood out, keeping out most of the attacks from the hosts.

Chukuwma Akabueze (Boluspor)

Akabueze produced an impressive display in Boluspor’s loss 3-2 loss to Adana Demirspor.

Samuel Kalu (Bordeaux)

Kalu made a great impact as a second half substitute in the draw with PSG.

Jamilu Collins (Paderborn)

Collins did well against Armenia. He was quick, defended well and was not afraid to go forward in search of goals.

Wilfred Ndidi (Leicester City)

The box-to-box midfielder was brilliant in the win over Watford.

Victor Osimhen (Sporting Charleroi)

Osimhen continued his stellar form for Sporting Charleroi last weekend by scoring a goal.

Stephen Odey (FC Zürich)

Odey had a man of the match showing in the colours of FC Zürich. He scored a goal in the game against Grasshopper.

Ebere Onuachu (Midtjylland)

Onuachu delivered for Midtjylland at Horsens, scoring one goal and providing an assist in the game.
