Senate President Godswill Akpabio says all political parties in Akwa Ibom have collapsed into a single entity.

He added that the movement will back the re-election bids of President Bola Tinubu; Umo Eno, governor of the state; and himself.

Akpabio spoke on Friday at the second phase of his constituency empowerment programme and project commissioning in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom north-west senatorial district.

“As I speak with you, there is nothing like a political party in 2027 in Akwa Ibom state again,” he said.

“For the senate of Ikot Ekpene senatorial district, all political parties have collapsed to vote for Senator Godswill Akpabio.

“For the office of the governor in 2027, all political parties have agreed to vote for Governor Umo Eno.

“Akwa Ibom has moved to vote for President Bola Tinubu, Eno for governor of Akwa Ibom state, and senator Akpabio for senate.

“The Peoples Democratic Party is in shreds and the umbrella can no longer protect.”

Akpabio also praised Eno for “uniting the state across political divides and fostering peace and development”.

“Let me thank Governor Umo Eno because he is a man of peace,” he said.

“He is a man of God both in attitude and actions. He has been able to bring us all together in Akwa Ibom and that is why we are enjoying peace in the state, because he acts his words.

“President Tinubu is very happy with Akwa Ibom state because of the peace in the state through collaborations of governor Eno and the president of the senate, which has brought development to the state.”

At the event, the senate president distributed minibuses, cars, tricycles, cargo tricycles, fridges, sewing machines, and cash grants.

Scholarships were also awarded to constituents and beneficiaries from the three senatorial districts of the state.

On April 15, Eno, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) will complete his eight-year tenure.
