Abia Warriors
The two Nigerian representatives in the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup have been eliminated.
Abia Warriors were pipped 1-0 by Djoliba FC for a 2-1 aggregate defeat to seal their exit from the competition on Sunday.
Kwara United also fell 1-0 at the MKO Abiola Stadium, their makeshift home ground, to Asante Kotoko of Ghana. The 5-3 aggregate loss sent them out of CAF CC.
Warriors and United’s exit means there will be no Nigerian club in the group stage of the second-tier continental competition this season.

However, Rivers United have advanced into the final preliminary round of the CAF Champions League (CAFCL) following a 1-0 win over Les Aigles of Congo DR in the second leg of their first round preliminary tie at the Godswill Akpabio stadium in Uyo on Sunday.
The lone goal scoreline sealed a 1-0 aggregate victory for Rivers United following a goalless first leg last weekend, with coach Finidi George’s side one step away from the group stage of the lucrative CAFCL.
Stephen Manyo scored the only goal of the second-leg encounter in the deep added time of the first half. The defender reacted quickest to slot home the rebound after Les Aigles’ goalkeeper spilled a routine free-kick.

The goal proved to be the match-winner of the cagey encounter, which had few chances, as River United saw out the match for a win that sees the Pride of Rivers join Remo Stars in the final qualifying round. They will face the winner of the tie between AC Léopards of Congo and Black Bulls of Mozambique.
