Nentawe Yilwatda, the newly appointed national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), says he will work with members of the ruling party to fix and drive it to the desired destination.
Yilwatda spoke on Thursday shortly after his appointment at the party’s national executive committee (NEC) meeting held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
He expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu, Vice-President Kashim Shettima, the leadership of the national assembly, governors, and other party stakeholders for the confidence reposed in him.
“Let me express my profound gratitude to God and the leadership of the party—from the president to the governors, national assembly members, and all members of NEC—for repulsing this big burden and also in me to lead the party at this junction,” Yilwatda said.

“Let me thank you also for picking me among millions of members of this party, and the party will see me good enough and responsible enough to take this party to the next level.”
The former governorship candidate of the APC in Plateau said he is committed to the progress of the party and would devote himself wholly to the role.
“I do not take this mandate for granted. I accept it with gratitude and with my full heart and full mind to work together with you to build the party,” he said.

“All of us here are the mechanics of the party, and the party is our vehicle. We will fix it and move it to our destination of choice.”
Yilwatda pledged to unify and grow the APC across the country while aligning with the vision of the Tinubu-led government.
“I pledge, without hesitation, that I will work with everybody in the party. I will unite the party, I will build the party, I will expand the party with you as the focus and the building blocks,” he said.
“With your support, we will drive the party to where all of us need it to be so that we can fulfil the dreams of Nigerians who have reposed their hope in the renewed hope agenda.”
