Dele Alli bagged a brace on Wednesday night to end Chelsea’s 13-match winning run at White Hart Lane.

It was a perfect payback for the Blues, who stopped Spurs’ Premier League title dream back in May 2016 with a 2-2 draw at the same venue.

Dele Alli’s expertly-taken header was the difference after the first 45 minutes.

Kyle Walker ran at Alonso and gave the ball back to Christian Eriksen, who curled a fine ball towards the far post. Alli got between two defenders and planted a high-class header back across Courtois and into the top corner.

Another lovely cross from Eriksen on the right, plus a fine header from Alli in the 54th minute, doubled Tottenham’s lead.

Spurs have won just one of the last eight Premier League games against Chelsea that they had held a lead in (W1 D4 L3).

Wednesday’s match also saw Alli equal his Premier League goal tally from last season (10 in 33 appearances) in just 19 Premier League appearances this season.

Spurs have won four consecutive Premier League home games for the first time since August 2014, when they had five wins.

Chelsea have not won at White Hart Lane since a 4-2 victory in October 2012.
