Samuel Nwanosike
Samuel Nwanosike, former chairman of Ikwerre LGA and ally of Nyesom Wike, minister of the federal capital territory (FCT), says former governors Rotimi Amaechi and Celestine Omehia cannot deliver their polling units in the 2027 elections.
Nwanosike spoke on Saturday at the grand finale of the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign ahead of the August 30 local government election in Rivers state.
He was addressing Tony Okocha, chairman of the party in the state.
“The commitment we are making before you here is that by the grace of God Almighty, when INEC fixes their timetable for the 2027 general election, mark it in your diary that the 13 wards of Ikwerre local government will be the first in the state to produce results for President Bola Tinubu and all your national assembly candidates,” he said.

“My chairman, I want to assure you that at Ikwerre local government we are happy with the Renewed Hope Agenda. We have seen governments come and go, but I’ve never seen a government like Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government.
“No wonder he’s a first-class product of the Chicago University of America. No wonder he’s a man that redefined Lagos state. Thank God he has brought that capacity to change the narrative in Nigeria.”
Nwanosike said the former governors failed to utilise the opportunities they had while in office.

“For us, tell our leaders at the federal level, they should forget about those stories from men who had the opportunity and didn’t use it,” he said.
“The likes of Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi and Celestine Omehia, they can’t win their polling units.
“My chairman, don’t worry about the Ikwerre local government. In fact, forget about thinking of us, all you will ask us when INEC sets that date is to say where is the result?”
