Akinwunmi Ambode, governor of Lagos state, has inaugurated a 20-man committee to ensure a smooth transition of power from his administration to the incoming one.

Speaking at the inauguration of the committee on Tuesday, Ambode, who was represented by Tunji Bello, secretary to the state government, said the step was imperative to ensure that the machinery of government “continues to roll smoothly”.

The governor said the committee would maintain stability, build on the “solid status” of the state and ensure seamless transition to the administration of Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governor-elect of the state, and Obafemi Hamzat, his deputy.

In his response, Hamzat, who is also the co-chairman of the committee, said the handover would be a seamless one.
