Aminu Dantata, business mogul, loses wife to protracted ailment

Rabi, the wife of Aminu Dantata, renowned business mogul, has died after a long battle with an unidentified illness.

Her demise was confirmed by Sanusi Dantata, a grandson, on his Twitter page on Sunday.

He said Rabi passed away on Saturday. 

“Please pray for our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, Haj. Rabi, wife of Alh. Aminu Dantata, who died yesterday after a protracted illness,” the post read

“May Allah forgive her, accept her good deeds, and grant her the highest rank in Paradise, Ameen! Innalillahi Wa Inna Ilaihirrajiuun!”

The deceased was the second wife of Dantata and she left behind the husband, many children and grandchildren.

Condolences have been pouring in for Rabi from prominent Nigerians.

President Muhammadu Buhari also sent a consolation message to the family. 

In a statement by Garba Shehu, presidential spokesperson, Buhari described the deceased as a woman with “passion for service to the people”.

The president added that she would be remembered for her unparalleled compassion and philanthropy. 

“She had a passion for service to the people. She was a celebrated philanthropist who loved to share all that she had,” the president was quoted as saying.

“Her simple and compassionate life was an inspiration to all those around her.”
