Abdulmumini Aminu-Zaria, the newly appointed executive director of the Nigerian Integrated Water Resources Management Commission (NWRMC), says Uba Sani, governor of Kaduna, is a loyal ally of President Bola Tinubu who has elevated competent leaders from the state.

In a statement issued on Friday, Aminu-Zaria reaffirmed his commitment to deliver on his mandate at the commission.

He said the Kaduna governor has been instrumental in identifying capable individuals who can drive the renewed hope agenda of President Tinubu.

Aminu-Zaria, a human resources professional with over three decades of experience in the oil and gas sector, retired from the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) in March.

He said his appointment is an opportunity to contribute to national development while supporting Sani’s inclusive policies in Kaduna.

He recalled that Tinubu, during a visit to Kaduna in June, commissioned a 300-bed specialist hospital, a skills and vocational centre, and 100 compressed natural gas (CNG) buses.

He added that Tinubu described Sani as an “agent of change” for prioritising peace, reconciliation, and inclusive governance in the state.

“The President commended the Governor of Kaduna State for leading the process of restoration of peace and harmony in the state and has placed it on the path of progress by prioritizing peace among the people and initiating a healing process among the various ethnic groups,” the statement reads.

“President Tinubu also acknowledged the leadership style of the governor, which has been focused on security and infrastructure since he came into office.

“He further said that Governor Uba Sani has changed the situation of the toxic and uncontrollable environment in Kaduna state to an atmosphere of peace and stability.”

The NWRMC executive director also commended Tinubu’s economic reforms, noting that the country is beginning to experience signs of recovery, citing the latest Nigeria Development Update (NDU) report titled ‘Building Momentum for Inclusive Growth.’
