Operatives of the south-west security network, code-named Amotekun, have arrested four persons for allegedly breaking into the Ola-Oluwa LGA secretariat in Osun state.

In a statement issued on Friday, Bashir Adewinmbi, commander of Amotekun in Osun, said the suspects were arrested on Wednesday.

“On Wednesday morning, four suspects burgled and vandalised Ola-Oluwa Local Government Secretariat in Telemu, and stole Aluminium sheets, Iron tables, and some wheelchairs,” NAN quoted Adewinmbi as saying.

“Luck, however, ran out against them after operatives of Amotekun, after receiving a distress call from residents of the area, went after them and arrested two of the suspects escaping the scene with the stolen items.”

He added that two of the suspects assisted Amotekun operatives in arresting two others who were at large.

According to Adewinmbi, the suspects confessed to committing the crime, noting that they have been handed over to the police for further investigation and prosecution.

He called on residents of the state to promptly report or give information that would assist in apprehending criminals and preventing crime to the corps and other security agencies.
